The three of us arrived safely at Ironwood on September 2nd! We had a few days to unpack, but then jumped right into our jobs the next week. September was such a busy month, chock full of camps. We had many groups during the weekdays, which made for more hectic schedules, but ultimately, more hearts reached for God!

Celebrated our 4-year anniversary at EddieWorld!

Ricky has been working in the kitchen. Besides helping make the food for all the campers, part of his job is taking inventory and receiving the food orders for camp each week. He’s learning a lot and enjoys serving campers in the position the Lord has placed him.

I (Alyssa) have been working 20 hours a week in Pygmy Post (Ironwood’s daycare for staff kids). It has been such a blessing to be with Rocky all day and watch him play with the other kids! The rest of the time, I get to be a stay-at-home mom!

Rocky loves the “neigh-neighs”!

We have been able to catch up with all of our friends from 2 years ago, and it’s so wonderful to be working with them again! Several of us were married couples with no kids, and now our kids are in Pygmy Post together!

Rocky has been settling in well. He loves the desert, but complains in the afternoons about it being “Hot hot hot!” Luckily, it is beginning to cool down. It’s only in the 90s during the day now and dropping into the 60s at night!

We are loving our home, and we are now settled in! We have a big front porch, (perfect for eventual gatherings) and have a big window in our living room. We live on one of the main roads that campers walk, and Rocky loves to sit at the window and wave at them! Rocky also has his own sink in his room, which has been so fun for him! The highlight of his night is brushing his teeth! 🙂

Rocky’s favorite thing to do is to be outside! He loves playing with water and bowls and cups on our porch, and loves playing in the sand in Pygmy Post’s yard! He has also suddenly become very interested in books, and will wait with a pile of books next to the recliner for Ricky to come home and read to him!

We are so grateful to be working at camp again! God knew the desires of our hearts! We’ve already seen so many campers come through camp just in the last month and a half. This weekend is Ironwood’s ladies retreat. Please be in prayer for a good turnout and that God’s word would touch hearts!

Prayer requests:

That we would all stay healthy during this busy time
