Much has happened in this last month! At the end of July, we were able to sell one of our two cars (for a great price!), which was an answer to prayer! This sale offset the cost of our cross-country move. We are down to one car now, but we won’t be needing a 2nd car out at Ironwood. The Lord truly worked in that situation: the car was sold within a week of listing!

On Friday, August 16th, we said goodbye to our apartment in Wisconsin (happy and sad tears as many of Rocky’s “firsts’ were here: his first smile, first laugh, first steps, first word.) It is a wonderful thought that he will have many more firsts at our new home and many more memories will be made!

All of our earthly belongings were packed into 3 U-haul Ubox shipping containers, which were then loaded onto a semi and hauled across the US. They arrived in California on August 26th, and we will be unloading them soon after we arrive next week!

We are so thankful for Alyssa’s mom, who babysat Rocky while we loaded up the containers, and Alyssa’s dad, who helped load the truck and load the Uboxes. We are now living at their home through the end of this week!

We are thankful for these last few weeks of Ricky being done with his job, as we’ve been able to have a few fun family day trips to the zoo and aquatic center, and also meet with many friends and family before we leave.

The Lord has provided in many ways since our first post! Our support level has been steadily increasing. God is good! Also, a family friend graciously set up our estate plan and will for free! This was a huge answer to prayer, as we felt a burden to get it in order before we left Wisconsin. We are in awe of all the ways God has blessed us in this last month alone.

We leave for Ironwood in less than a week! Ricky will be leaving the state on Friday morning, August 30th, for his 30 hour road trip. Please pray for safety, good weather, and no car troubles. Alyssa and Rocky are flying out with Alyssa’s mom on Monday, September 2nd. Please pray for Rocky to be calm on the flight, it is his first one ever! After all of that, it will be wonderful to finally arrive at camp! We are so excited to be back working in ministry together!
